and to celebrate we spent the weekend in the woods. We headed to Suttle Lake with my parents. This may seem unromantic, but it was actually super perfect because I'm still nursing Fern and can't get away for a weekend without her yet and going with my parents made it much more relaxing since we could have relief babysitters, plus we like them too :).
Here's the cute little cabin we stayed in...
This is the lake... and Craig thoughtfully contemplating life by the lake...or mostly freezing to death and utilizing one of his anniversary gifts.
It was so freaking cold! But never too cold for a photo opp.
Grandpa + Grandma + Fernie
Fern went on a horse and carriage ride...
and she loved the horse.
We had coffee at quite possibly the best coffee I've ever had in a small town at Sisters Coffee Company. And it was so cozy inside!
We popped into some of the shops in Sisters...
Then we went to 10 Barrel Brewing Co. in Bend for lunch - they had the cutest little Fern-sized taster glasses. But don't worry...we didn't share any with her :).
We stopped on our way home so Fern could see her first snow...
And couldn't manage to get any photos with our eyes open because the snow was so bright!
Once we were home we relaxed and ended our weekend with a family froyo date to celebrate our 5 years of marriage. In my opinion all good celebrations should include froyo.
And that was how we celebrated five lovely years.
How was your weekend?
