If you know me at all, you know that I love short-cuts.
and things that are "almost homemade".
I love hosting meals for friends and family and I love DIY'ing gifts for people, but I'm slightly lazy about it in that I don't make everything completely from scratch. If there's a way to cut corners, but still maintain a good presentation, I'm all about it. Usually I mix homemade with pre-made. I've been known to buy brownie mix from a box and add peanut butter and nutella to make it my own and make it seem more "homemade". Hey, if Ghiradelli has perfected a delicious, chewy brownie recipe, who am I to reinvent the wheel? Well....this drink recipe is no different. Feel free to embellish or improvise with the measurements.
Blueberry Mint Limeade
Ingredients:
*1 can limeade juice
*1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen, though I prefer frozen)
*2 Tbsp finely chopped mint leaves
To Make:
1. Pour blueberries in the bottom of a pitcher.
2. Dump in can of limeade into the pitcher and add water per instructions on the can.
3. Stir and squish up the blueberries a bit while you do so.
4. Add mint leaves and give the pitcher another stir.
5. Pour yourself a drink and enjoy!
You can make this with many variations....
Sometimes I use a can of lemonade instead and use blackberries instead of blueberries and voila! Blackberry Mint Lemonade. You could even slice up some fresh lemons for it to add to the prettiness factor (or in the case of the Blueberry Mint Limeade, some freshly sliced limes).
This drink is ridiculously easy, but still seems impressive to guests.
Basically if you add a dash of something fresh to anything pre-made you can fool people into being impressed - a good tip to remember :).
