Since Fern was born she's only had a handful of photos
taken with an actual camera.
Pulling out my iPhone and snapping a quick picture is much easier than digging up a camera and I always have it on me which means I never miss any important moments.
The downside to all this technology?
You lose some of the personal touch that film photos once offered. One thing I miss most about printed photos is writing on the back of them - handwritten descriptions of the events surrounding the photo. Something about handwriting on photos makes me all nostalgic.
If you feel similar, then I've discovered
just the app for you...SigNote.
The SigNote app let's you snap photos of handwritten notes and overlay them on iPhone photos. It's the perfect way to capture quick and convenient photos with a bit of sweet throwback flair. The modern version of writing on the back of photos.
I'm totally obsessed and have been
having so much fun with it!

Capturing sweet moments like these is one of my most favorite parts about being a mama :).
How do you capture memorable moments?
Do you prefer the convenience of phone photos or do you stick to a camera?

Ah! That app is a must have! I do miss writing on the backs of photos. I have an album if highschool photos and there are captions written to the side if them all. Ah, the good ole days.

lovely! I'm gonna have to get that app. Most all of my photos of X are on the iphone. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post! I am the exact same way with E and I have really been looking for an app like that.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable :) I have resorted to taking pics and videos mostly with my iPhone as well! It's just too convenient, but once a month or so I try to take out my big cam and take nice pics. But I'm really bad at printing them out, so thank you for this awesome app tip! Must download now!

Fun app! I love the couch sleeping photos. I do the same thing with Pearl sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThat app looks awesome! I'm also a victim of the iPhone pictures, but it's a love/hate thing. I know that I take WAY more pictures than I would normally, but it does sort of take away from the nature of regular photography.
ReplyDeleteYou two look SOOOOO sweet on Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteAHH! thanks for the app info. I love it! I have about 10 rolls of black and white old school film to develop (and then write on the back of the pics!)and I truly need this nostalgic fix. :)

I definitely find it super convenient to grab my iTouch and snap a picture than to lug around my Nikon. But you're right--it does take away a little something about capturing a photo with a camera and turning it into handheld photos. SigNote sounds like a great app!
ReplyDeleteThis is actually the perfect thing to make technology more personal. And I looove the last photo and the note there.
ReplyDeleteso cool! i am going to have to try it!! hey..p.s. i lost all my phone numbers when i got my new phone.. you should text yours too me! miss you friend!!
ReplyDeletethis is such a great post! with my little man due in just a couple short months I know that I will be much more hands on with the pictures from my iphone rather than going to get my amazing expensive camera my hubby bought me!
