romantic surprises.

My husband is a closet romantic.
He's not the typical kind of romantic though.

He hates mandatory gift giving occasions
 (think: Valentine's Day, Anniversaries, etc...).

But sometimes out of the blue I come home
to a sweet surprise like this:

He carved a heart for me with a chainsaw, because:

"It will last way longer than flowers."

And even when he does get me flowers he puts his own spin on it.  Just the other day he came home with a bouquet AND a basil plant, because he said he wanted to get me:

"Something pretty and something useful."

So sweet, right?

Anyway....all this was just to say that I have a pretty great husband and I just wanted to brag about him for a second.

OK.
That's all :).

  3. Aww, that's so cute! My fiancé has the same thought about flowers. The first spring/summer we were together he explained that he didn't want to buy me a bouquet of flowers because they would die. So he bought me an entire rose bush to plant in his (now our) backyard! I love the heart your husband carved for you!
