Did I ever tell you about my genius not so genius idea to start a
"Baked Good of the Month Club"?
Well....it all started at Christmas. Craig doesn't like Christmas. He thinks it's commercialism at its worst and detests the idea of buying presents on certain days just because you're "supposed to". BUT...I convinced him to let me make all of our gifts...this still required some money, but it was a little less expensive, and less commercial. SO... when it came time to do something from Craig's dad and I was stumped. Guys are so hard to buy for! Anyway, the only thing I know he really loves is sweets and baked goods, so I decided to start up a "Baked Good of the Month Club" as a gift for him and for my dad as well. This all sounded good on paper. But, I'm such a procrastinator! Today is the 30th and I have yet to make the baked good for this month: Brownies.
I've promised myself I'm going to do it today...and I definitely probably will. I think I'd be a little bit more motivated to bake if I had today's giveaway prize all for my own. I can enter my own giveaway, right?
Here are the little beauties up for grabs.....
Wouldn't my brownies look great in these?

ReplyDeletehttp://blog.chrisvallely.com/post/485455754/a-nice-little-giveaway
wow are you really giving these away? epic! what would i bake? brownies. i know that sounds simple but i like my brownies plain and every time someone else makes them they put nuts and chocolate chips and other crap, ruining the sanctity of the brownie lol i'd also try my hand at some baked pasta!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I LOVE Le Creuset dishes! I eye them up anytime I pass them by, but can't afford most of them. I do have a lovely utensil crock in the same pretty blue that my dear Jesse bought me. I adore it and love seeing it sit on my kitchen counter.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I thought about what I'd make in these dishes the whole day at work and it finally came to me on my bike ride home. In the larger dish, I would make my Mom's blueberry buckle recipe (a buckle is kind of like a cross between cake and cobbler, and oh so good). It brings back many happy memories from childhood, for it was a favorite dessert of mine. It's beautiful with swirls of purplish-blue, healthful, and classic. We always ate it warm with either whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt. My mom got the recipe in her 7th grade home economics class and hung onto it. I actually don't have it written down, but could easily get it from Mom with a quick phone call if you'd like it. I am a sucker for fruity desserts and this one is just so delightful and cheery. It would look marvelous in this blue dish!
In the smaller dish I would make my friend, Molly's baked artichoke dip. It's flavorful, creamy and satisfying. It is comforting and tastes rich and fattening, but it's light, healthy, and dairy and gluten free! You'd swear there were cheese or full fat mayo in it. You get all the great flavor without the fat and stomach pains. I recently had this at her house as an appetizer before dinner. We ate it warm out of the oven with rice crackers. It's a great dinner party appetizer. Addicting too! I don't have the recipe, but have been meaning to get it. I do remember most of what's in it though.
Also, I am a confirmed follower...finally! I have been a secret follower for a while, but revealed myself now. Your blog is nice to read and brightens my day. Cheers, Lauren and pardon my long post! I was excited :)

ReplyDeletewow - those are gorgeous! I would probably bake up some of my four cheese truffle oil mac n cheese. Its always a big hit at dinner parties!! I'd probably have to use both dishes to bake it because we all go back for seconds. And sometimes thirds!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering such an amazing giveaway!
I would definitely bake lemon surprise cake and macaroni and cheese....and enchiladas...and brownies. They're so pretty!

ReplyDeleteI would cook some winner winner chicken dinner, which is just chicken with whatever spices/flavorings we are hankering after on a particular day. SOme favorites have been ranch dressing mix, italian soup flavoring and barbeque sauce with sour cream. Deli-icious.

ReplyDeleteHoly cute cute baking dishes. I love them. I would make in them, brownies from scratch. I'm not a chocolatey person, but for some reason I love brownies. Betty Crocker fudge brownies hit the spot for me, nothing added, nothing on top. I would like to try them from scratch though.
ReplyDeletebest giveaway ever! i really really want to win this.
ReplyDeleteso...i would make lots of braised dishes. specifically, this braised chicken thigh dish that damir and i are obsessed with (its my recipe so if i win i'll post the recipe :) hows that for incentive to pick me?

CROSSING MY FINGERS!
These look amazing and I LOVE the color! I'd bake mac n cheese in them {but not any mac and cheese} - my special cooking school version which involves an obscene amount of cheese {2 layers} and bread crumbs. If you email me I will happily send you the recipe :) I already tweeted this and follow your blog!

As a baking fiend, I will ensure their good use- thus utilizing them frequently to create: mint chip brownies, cheese cake squares, chocolate chip squares and in the spirit of the lemming, mac n' cheese.
ReplyDeletei might be the only man commenting on your blog Lauren, but i'm following it now too:)But I'd bake Rachel something awesome in there for sure (brownies, baked spaghetti, some sort of chicken casserole, etc)

I would bake so many things, but first thing that comes to mind is my Nana + Mom's lasagna, its a family favorite and passed down recipe. Its only handwritten on a recipe card, so I can't link to it, but its amazing.
ReplyDeleteI see myself cooking lots of warm, comforting and delicious meals for my loved ones in those dishes!
