a little giveaway action.

Did I ever tell you about my genius not so genius idea to start a
"Baked Good of the Month Club"?

Well....it all started at Christmas.  Craig doesn't like Christmas.  He thinks it's commercialism at its worst and detests the idea of buying presents on certain days just because you're "supposed to".  BUT...I convinced him to let me make all of our gifts...this still required some money, but it was a little less expensive, and less commercial.  SO... when it came time to do something from Craig's dad and I was stumped.  Guys are so hard to buy for!  Anyway, the only thing I know he really loves is sweets and baked goods, so I decided to start up a "Baked Good of the Month Club" as a gift for him and for my dad as well.  This all sounded good on paper.  But, I'm such a procrastinator!  Today is the 30th and I have yet to make the baked good for this month:  Brownies.

I've promised myself I'm going to do it today...and I definitely probably will.  I think I'd be a little bit more motivated to bake if I had today's giveaway prize all for my own.  I can enter my own giveaway, right?

Here are the little beauties up for grabs.....
Wouldn't my brownies look great in these?

{Le Creuset 9" and 5" baking dishes}

This  giveaway is being kindly sponsored by CSN stores who have a variety of online stores where you can find the most lovely things.  They have everything from kids bedding to fondue pots to the perfect mid-century modern chair. I actually quite love that chair, but that's another story.

So...on with the details.....

To enter:

You must be a U.S.
or Canadian resident.
Sorry international friends.
I'm guessing these things are heavy.

Leave a comment telling me what you would bake in these lovely baking dishes...and leave me a link to a recipe is one exists...I'm always up for new ideas!

You can receive additional entries for the following (one comment for each):

2.  Be a follower of this here blog.

3.  Post this on Facebook or Twitter and leave a link to your post.

Good luck!

I'll be announcing a winner

    ReplyDelete
  113. First off, I LOVE Le Creuset dishes! I eye them up anytime I pass them by, but can't afford most of them. I do have a lovely utensil crock in the same pretty blue that my dear Jesse bought me. I adore it and love seeing it sit on my kitchen counter.

Anyway, I thought about what I'd make in these dishes the whole day at work and it finally came to me on my bike ride home. In the larger dish, I would make my Mom's blueberry buckle recipe (a buckle is kind of like a cross between cake and cobbler, and oh so good). It brings back many happy memories from childhood, for it was a favorite dessert of mine. It's beautiful with swirls of purplish-blue, healthful, and classic. We always ate it warm with either whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt. My mom got the recipe in her 7th grade home economics class and hung onto it. I actually don't have it written down, but could easily get it from Mom with a quick phone call if you'd like it. I am a sucker for fruity desserts and this one is just so delightful and cheery. It would look marvelous in this blue dish!

In the smaller dish I would make my friend, Molly's baked artichoke dip. It's flavorful, creamy and satisfying. It is comforting and tastes rich and fattening, but it's light, healthy, and dairy and gluten free! You'd swear there were cheese or full fat mayo in it. You get all the great flavor without the fat and stomach pains. I recently had this at her house as an appetizer before dinner. We ate it warm out of the oven with rice crackers. It's a great dinner party appetizer. Addicting too! I don't have the recipe, but have been meaning to get it. I do remember most of what's in it though.

Also, I am a confirmed follower...finally! I have been a secret follower for a while, but revealed myself now. Your blog is nice to read and brightens my day. Cheers, Lauren and pardon my long post! I was excited :)
